Kansai Yamamoto behind the scenes at Hello Japan

Kansai poster

I shot this image in the break between rehearsals for the ‘Hello Tokyo Super Show’ of the classic costume that Kansai Yamamoto originally designed for David Bowie. I had to add the background digitally from an image I sourced from a book of beautiful Japanese painting and I then scanned Kansai’s signature from a letter he had sent me. The original shot was taken backstage at the venue in Tokyo in March 2012.
